Hockey India League

HIL - Hockey India League, is a professional league for field hockey competition in India. It is organized by Hockey India. The tournament was originally contested in the first season among five franchisee-based teams consisting of players from India and around the world. In 2014, Kalinga Lancers joined as the sixth franchise, based in Bhubaneswar. The plan is to have 8 teams by 2016 and 10 by 2018, with a possibility of having a team from south India^. The entire event takes place on home and away basis culminating into multi-header playoffs. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has sanctioned the event and also provides a 30-day window at the beginning of a year so that all top players can participate.

Duleep Trophy

The Duleep Trophy is a domestic first-class cricket competition played in India between teams representing geographical zones of India. The competition is named after Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji of Nawanagar. The competition was started by the Board of Control for Cricket in India in the 1961–62 season. Five Indian zonal teams regularly take part in the Duleep Trophy – North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone and Central Zone. The original format was that the five teams played each other on a knock-out basis. From the 1993–94 season, the competition converted to a league format. From the 2003–04 season until 2008, the five original zonal teams competed along with a sixth guest team which was a touring foreign team. The first guest team was England A in 2003–04.

Since, the format has been replaced by the original 5-team knockout tournament.

Deodhar Trophy

The Deodhar Trophy is a List A cricket competition in Indian domestic cricket. It is named after Prof. D. B. Deodhar (known as the Grand Old Man of Indian cricket) and is a 50-over knockout competition played on an annual basis among the 5 zonal teams - North Zone, South Zone, East Zone, West Zone and Central Zone. The competition was introduced in 1973-74 season with South Zone winning the trophy.
Two teams play in a quarter-final match, with the winner progressing to the semi-finals, met with the remaining 3 teams. From then, it is a simple knockout tournament.

Champions Tennis League

Champions Tennis League (CTL) is a Privately Owned Tennis league, owned and operated by Second Serve Pvt. Ltd. Fronted by Indian Tennis Legend and global ambassador of the sport Vijay Amritraj. CTL is only Professional tennis league in India where team captains are grand slam champions and the players are amongst the best in the World. Conceptualised to promote a passion for tennis and love for the sport, CTL holds the promise of taking tennis in India to new levels.

CTL will have 13 matches played over the 10-day period, with the teams structured into two groups, each having three teams, where all teams play each other. The teams with the highest number of games (not sets) won in their respective group, will play each other in the grand finale to win prize money of Rs 1 crore. The runner-up will get Rs 50 lakh.

Each team will play the other two teams on a home and away basis to decide the group standings. The top team of each group will then face each other in the final.

The player draft was conducted without any auction with each team picking four players from a pool of 24. The player pool consisted of six legends, six international men, six international women and six Indians.
